Lionsgate Play, the streaming platform is set to drop their original series titled U-Special. The show is helmed by Akarsh Khurana and Adhaar Khurana while the Karwaan director is also the showrunner. U-Special is a series set against the backdrop of college romantic drama and features Sumeet Vyas, Arjun Mathur, Parambrata Chatterjee, Rukshar Dhillon, Taaruk Raina, Gopal Datt and Ahsaas Channa among others in the leading roles.
Now, Arjun took to his Instagram page and introduced his character from the show and he plays the role of Tarush Khetrapal.
While sharing the stills of the actors from U-Special, Akarsh penned a sweet note about the show nearing its shoot wrap. He stated, "The end is near. And these posts are constantly reminding us of how fortunate we have been in assembling this large and wonderful ensemble. #uspecial #multistarrer."
Rohit Jain who is the Managing Director of South Asia and Networks-Emerging Markets Asia for Lionsgate India had earlier said in a statement to Deadline, "This series is designed to connect and resonate with young audiences who are our largest demographic."
The international publication also described the premise of U-Special as a series 'set in the cheerful, quirky and vibrant world of a large university campus filled with young people from all over India.'
Lionsgate Play launched in India in 2020 and their first original series was Casual.
Meanwhile, Arjun is not new to the OTT space and has been a part of several series and movies. For his performance in Amazon Prime Video's Made in Heaven, the actor earned a nomination at International Emmy Awards.
