Arjun Kapoor has asked the industry to unite and protest the prevalent boycott culture. He said that the industry has tolerated a lot of ‘keechad’ and it is now time to speak up. The reaction comes soon after netizens demanded boycott on Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, Hrithik Roshan’s Vikram Vedha, Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Currently, both Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan are suffering at the Box Office and the reason is being directly linked to the boycott culture.

Arjun was talking to Bollywood Hungama when he shared that netizens have ‘taken advantage of’ the silence maintained by the industry. He said that they tolerated it for too long, which is why people have taken advantage now.

The actor claims that the hashtags people use for the celebs are far from the reality. He adds that people like a film and not an actor’s surname when it does well at Box Office and says, “Ab zyaada hone laga hai, unfair hai.”

Arjun gives the example of how even a new car would lose its shine if it goes through keechad everyday and thus, he believes it is the same with the industry at this given point of time. “Humne toh kaafi keechad jhel liya hai,” he feels because the industry turned a blind eye to many things. While Arjun agreed with celebs who used to ignore things by stating that people’s perception would change after a film’s release, he now believes that people have lost the spark to go and watch a new film on Friday morning in theatres.

Arjun Kapoor was recently seen in Ek Villain Returns. The movie is his fifth highest-opening film. It collected Rs. 7.05 crores on day one and has been working fairly well ever since.
