After teaming up in Oru International Local Story that marked Harisree Ashokan’s directorial debut, Arjun Ashokan and his father will now be seen sharing space in VS Abhilash’s upcoming film Olam. The upcoming movie will mark the scriptwriting debut of actress Lena.

Talking to OTTplay about the movie that is a psychological horror-comedy, Lena tells us, “It’s an out-and-out entertainer. It’s a light-hearted movie. The pre-production work has already started.”

On roping in Harisree Ashokan and Arjun Ashokan as father-son duo in the movie, Lena, who has co-written the script with Abhilash, tells us, “Arjun plays the protagonist. He is very excited about the film because it will explore a different side of him. When a father and son are playing the same roles in real life, something is bound to happen and we are waiting for that.”

The movie also has Noby Marcose, Binu Pappu, Suresh Chandra Menon and Lena herself in other pivotal roles. “The casting just happened quickly. As we were writing, we contacted the people that came to our minds and all of them agreed as soon as they heard the idea. Noby has reinvented himself during the lockdown and the movie will have him in a different look. Suresh Chandra Menon plays a flamboyant character in the movie,” says the actress, adding that she is “loving the process that’s happening behind the screen”.

The film’s title poster was revealed on July 16. The shoot of the movie is expected to start on August 17. Lena, meanwhile, is also working on two other scripts, one of which will mark her directorial debut.
