Thattassery Kottam, which revolves around a bunch of young goldsmiths, is directed by Dileep’s brother Anoop

Debutant director Anoop Padmanabhan’s Thattassery Koottam, which hit theatres last year after a delay of almost two years, is finally set to drop on ZEE5 this month. The movie has Arjun Ashokan in the lead, along with Priyamvada Krishnan and Ganapathy in pivotal roles.
Thattassery Koottam revolves around a youngster named Sanju, who shies away from taking up his ancestral profession of being a goldsmith, only for his uncle to fall ill in the middle of an important assignment. He is then tasked with completing the work along with his friends. But an act in an inebriated state spoils the plans of all involved, forcing his uncle to start a jewellery shop on his own. Trouble doesn’t end for Sanju and his friends. How they finally seek redemption, form the plot of this entertainer, scripted by Santosh Echikkanam.
The film marks the debut of Anoop, actor Dileep’s younger brother. Thattassery Koottam is also produced by Dileep, who also appears in a cameo in the film. Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Sreelakshmi, Aneesh Gopal and Unni P Dev are other artistes in the movie.
The movie is currently slated to release on ZEE5 on January 13. The film’s OTT rights were bagged by the platform before its theatrical release. ZEE5, which had recently dropped Aparna Balamurali’s investigative thriller Ini Utharam on the platform, has also bagged the rights for Antony Varghese’s upcoming theatrical movie Poovan, which marks the debut directorial of actor Vineeth Vasudevan, who was seen in Super Sharanya.
Poovan, which is a feel-good comedy drama, is set to hit theatres on January 20 and is expected to drop on the platform in February or March 2023. Meanwhile, ZEE5 has also bagged the rights for Arjun Ashokan’s upcoming release Pranaya Vilasam, which also has Super Sharanya actors Anaswara Rajan and Mamitha Baiju.
