After completing the third chapter of Mitin Mashi with Koel Mallick, Arindam Sil may start his new film with Prosenjit Chatterjee

Over the past decade, Arindam Sil has established himself as an important director in the Bengali film industry. However, as of today, he has not directed one of the strongest artistes: Prosenjit Chatterjee. As it seems, the time has come. After completing the third chapter of Mitin Mashi with Koel Mallick, Arindam may start his new film with Prosenjit.
Arindam, who has been an able actor in the Bengali industry, has acted with Prosenjit for years. They worked together for more than 25 years. However, this will be the first time Arindam will direct Prosenjit. According to sources, the film is at its script level. It all started after a discussion on the concept with the actor. When asked, Arindam did not deny the news. “If I wish to collaborate with Bumbada for the first time, it has to be something great. We have focussed on a story that is contemporary, realistic, and definitely offbeat,” he said.
Prosenjit will start shooting his new film with Anirban Bhattacharya soon. Produced by SVF, the film will be directed by Rahool Mukherjee and it also features Priyanka Sarkar, Aparajita Adhya, Rajatava Dutta, Surojit Banerjee, and others.
Arindam stepped in the direction with Aborto in 2013. Ever since, he has helmed three elaborate franchises: Byomkesh Bakshi with SVF, Shobor, and Mitin Mashi. Besides, he also directed dramas like Dhananjoy, Durga Sahay, and others. With Gargee RoyChowdhury, he made Mahashweta Devi’s biopic, Mahananda.
Meanwhile, Arindam has completed the shooting of the third chapter of Mitin Mashi, Ek Khunir Sandhane Mitin, with Koel. The second film of the Mitin Mashi franchise was released last October during Puja. This time, instead of Camellia Productions, Arindam has teamed up with Surinder Films for the third film.
