Aranmanai is one of the popular horror-comedy franchises in Tamil, with its first part having been released in 2014. After its successful run, the team under the direction of Sundar C, came up with its second part in 2016, which, too, garnered decent appreciation.
However, the third installment, which was released in 2021, ended up as a drab fare, thanks to unengaging screenplay, lack of novelty and predictable moments. Many assumed that the makers wouldn’t come up with another part to the franchise. However, Sundar surprised one and all when he completed the script for the fourth part and began looking for actors.
Vijay Sethupathi was initially approached to play the lead in Aranmanai 4, but the Farzi actor cited date issues and said no to makers. Sundar, who played key roles in all the three installments, is said to have decided to play the lead this time.
Santhanam, who was seen enacting an entertaining role in the first part, is likely to rejoin the franchise. This might be a huge boost to the movie, if everything goes well. Raashi Khanna, who was part of the third part, essaying a role in Aranmanai 4, is no longer a secret.
The latest is that Tamannaah Bhatia will also join the movie which is expected to go on floors in a few months’ time. Film buffs are eager to know how Raashi and Santhanam who were part of different installments will be part of Aranmanai 4.
Earlier, Andrea Jeremiah and Hansika Motwani were seen in two installments albeit they essayed different characters in both the outings.
