Directed by Sundar C, the filmmaker is making a comeback with Aranmanai 4 after his last release in 2022 with Coffee With Kadhal

Aranmanai 4, the upcoming fourth installment of the horror comedy franchise Aranmanai, is set to hit big screens this week. Directed by Sundar C, the filmmaker is making a comeback after his last release in 2022 with Coffee With Kadhal. Besides helming the film, Sundar C will also be playing the lead role in Aranmanai 4.
Aranmanai 4 is set to hit big screens on May 3. The film will also have a release in Telugu as Baak. The film will be releasing along with Kurangu Pedal in Tamil, a children’s film which will be presented by Sivakarthikeyan. Aranmanai 4 is the fourth instalment in the director’s horror film franchise.
Aranmanai 4 will have its protagonist played by Sundar C, who essays the role of a lawyer from Chennai. His sister is played by actor Tamannaah Bhatia, who along with her family, starts residing in a bungalow in the village. However, after her husband dies under mysterious circumstances and the sister dies by suicide, it is up to the lawyer to unravel the mystery of their deaths. There is also a rumour of a ghost lurking in the village, which consumes human flesh.
The trailer of the film was released a few weeks ago and we are introduced to mysterious deaths, with the lawyer coming from the city to unravel the secrets. We are also introduced to a spirit called Baak, which seems to be the root cause of all the troubles. It is up to the lawyer to stop the spirit from doing any further damage and save his loved ones.

The film’s cast is led by Sundar C and also stars Tamannaah, Raashii Khanna, Santhosh Pratap, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Delhi Ganesh, Kovai Sarala, and others. Sundar C has written the story of the film as well besides directing and starring in it. Aranmanai 4 has music scored by Hiphop Tamizha, and shot by cinematographer E Krishnasamy aka Kicha. The film is edited by Fenny Oliver.
The run time of the film has been revealed as two hours and 28 minutes. The film has been censored U/A by the Board. From the looks of the film’s promotional materials so far, it seems that Aranmanai 4 will be different from its predecessors, and will be based on a folklore called Baak.
