AR Murugadoss shares an update on Allu Arjun's next, deets inside

A R Murugadoss is one of the top directors in the country and has made some of the biggest hits in his career. Off late, he is not directing that many films but is producing projects once in a while. His latest production is August 16 1947 starring Gautam Karthik in a lead role. The film is directed by Sukumar's assistant Ponkumar.

On the occasion of the film's promotions, Sukumar was in Hyderabad and met the press. He spoke in detail about the film and also revealed about his long delayed film with Allu Arjun. "My film with Bunny was in the pipeline. A hero will meet so many directors and a director will meet many heroes. The discussions are at very initial stages” said the star director.

Speaking about his other projects, Murugadoss says that he has a deal fixed with NV Prasad and will very soon do a direct Telugu film. The script is ready but the hero is not yet locked, says the Ghajini director. Murugadoss last directed a film called Darbar in 2020 and is yet to announce his next.

Speaking about August 16 1947, Murugadoss says that the film is a sensible drama and has the finest performances. It is set in the bygone era and has been narrated in a very realistic manner. The film is set in a village called Sangadu, which is described as “the capital of slavery,” a day before the Indian independence in 1947.
