Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the upcoming sequel of the DC film series starring Jason Momoa in the titular role. The makers have dropped the official teaser of the superhero movie and also announced the trailer release date. The James Wan has been awaited for five years since the release of the first part in 2018

Teaser review

The tinny teaser just gives glimpses of a few action-packed sequences from the film happening inside the ocean. The antagonist, Black Manta, can be heard claiming to kill Aquaman and destroy everything he owns or is related to. Meanwhile, the superhero can be seen firmly defending and fighting for everything he has. The latest promo definitely gives a brief glance at the big-budget production as well as multiple new innovations that will be witnessed after five years in the sequel. Not only his kingdom and family, Aquaman is back to fight the bad guys to save the whole wide world.

Makers dropped the teaser with a special caption on YouTube that reads, "Don’t miss the full trailer this Thursday. #Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom - Only in theaters December 20. Director James Wan and Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa—along with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman—return in the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time: “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” (sic)."

Cast and makers

The story of the movie is written by the director and the lead actor themselves along with David Leslie, Johnson-McGoldrick, and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett. Apart from Jason Momoa, it stars Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren, Randall Park, Temuera Morrison and Nicole Kidman.

Release date

The official trailer of the DC film is set to release on Thursday, September 14, while Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be out in theatres worldwide on December 20, 2023.
