Godzilla and Legendary's Monsterverse movies will soon have a small screen adaptation, with Apple TV+ developing a series with Chris Black of Star Trek Enterprise-fame.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black will executive produce the project with comic book writer Matt Fraction, known for Hawkeye, The Invincible Iron Man, The Immortal Iron Fist among others. The two will be the untitled Legendary Television show's co-creator and Black will also serve as showrunner.
Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell are also executive producers alongside Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita of Toho Co. Ltd. THR writes that Toho owns Godzilla and all other related characters.
Here is the synopsis as per Apple's announcement: "Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch."

Apple mentions that the Monsterverse has so far earned $2 billion worldwide, and the franchise is also expanding into anime with Skull Island, which will soon release on Netflix.
The untitled Monsterverse series will premiere globally on Apple TV+.
