The Deol family, which consists of Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby Deol are among the most loved actors of the film industry. The sports drama Apne, starring the father and both the sons, which was released in 2007 and was a huge success. A larger success than Apne was their second film together, the comedy-drama Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011). The trio reunited in the two comedic franchise sequels Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se after YPD. However, both movies received negative reviews and were box office duds.

In a recent interview with ANI, Bobby Deol revealed that the lack of a good script is the main cause of the much-anticipated movie Apne 2's delay. The trio only wants to proceed this time if they are absolutely certain that they will deliver a hit. Bobby said, "Definitely. We are trying for Apne part 2 to be made and that we make more of such movies together. Work on the scripts is going on. We will make the movie when the script will be good."

Bobby also mentioned in the conversation that he wished he could work with his family more frequently.

Dharmendra's work front

On the professional front, Dharmendra most recently made an impression with his role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan Johar's directorial film. He will next appear in Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sannon starrer untitled film which is backed by Maddock Pictures.

Sunny Deol's work front

Sunny Deol recently delivered Gadar 2, which was also his biggest box office success to date and his first solo hit in 22 years. The actor will next appear in Rajkumar Santoshi's next, backed by Aamir Khan.

Bobby Deol's work front

Bobby Deol will appear as the bad guy in Ranbir Kapoor's crime drama Animal. Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna also appear in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film's lead roles. The movie Animal will open in theaters on December 1.
