Despite being in separate relationships, Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney's on-screen chemistry in Anyone But You has fueled speculation about a potential off-screen romance between them. The film has been generating massive online buzz since early 2023 and is still making headlines after the film’s release on December 22, 2023.
Anyone But You story
The spark from their first date flickered into ash soon after, leaving Bea and Ben with a simmering disappointment. But fate seemed to have other plans. Thrust together at a picture-perfect Australian wedding, they struck an uneasy pact to fake a relationship. Under the sun-kissed nature, tensions simmered, and secrets found a way to be disclosed.
It's been thirteen days running in theatres, and Anyone But You is dividing cinephiles and casual viewers alike. Critics and audiences haven't quite found common ground on the film, but it's still managed to charm its way to a global box office haul of over $33 million in the US.
Glen Powell's comment on affair rumours with Sydney Sweeney
Despite getting massively criticised for their real-life affair rumours, Glen Powell told Entertainment Weekly last year, “A great rom-com doesn't survive without great chemistry, and Sydney is the easiest person to have chemistry with. I mean, immediately, it was like we had known each other forever, and I think anybody that's been on the set realises I never get tired of talking to Sydney.”
Anyone But You India release and OTT release dates
Anyone But You won't be in theatres for long—only until early February in the US. It's a modern take on Shakespeare's play Much Ado About Nothing, but with lots of laughs and romance. It's coming out in India on January 5, so you can catch it on the big screen soon. If you miss it there, you can wait until April 20, 2024, when it comes out on Netflix.
