Having made a niche out of telling real stories with no vanity cover-up, Kashyap has been a voice that is revered, loved, and acknowledged by a massive fanbase that worships his art. However, the filmmaker has always been vocal about wanting to make a film with SRK. He has yet again spoken about it, but now his hope is flickering rather than staying strong.

Anurag Kashyap, who is currently in the process of directing one film while his last one is on the festival circuit and yet to be released in India, has been vocal about many things recently. In a detailed interview that is going viral, the filmmaker discussed a variety of topics and stumbled upon the idea of making a movie with Shah Rukh Khan and how he is scared to make one now, with reasons that make all the sense. Talking to Humans Of Cinema, Anurag Kashyap said that he admires Shah Rukh Khan and his body of work but still couldn't collaborate with him. The filmmaker mentioned that there was a time when Khan would work with everyone, but making a movie with him in today's day and age has almost become impossible. “In this day and age of social media, I am terrified by the fanbases big stars have. Actors get typecast because of fans, and the fans want the same things from them again and again. If that doesn’t happen, fans reject it, so even actors get apprehensive about trying new things,” he said.
Anurag Kashyap explained that he would not just cater to the fans if he got Shah Rukh Khan on board but would make a movie that he wanted. This scares him because the repercussions or consequences of making a movie like that will cost him a lot. “So it’s not in my capacity to cater to SRK’s aura or enigma. If his film Fan had worked, I could have said that I too have the courage to work with him,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap is currently working on a thriller with a very illustrious ensemble that includes Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Joju George, Sapna Pabbi, Jeetendra Joshi, Ankush Gedambe, Nagesh Bhonsle, Jamini Pathak, Ghamshyam Garg, and Riddhi Sen. The film has already started on a positive note, and fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates. As for Kennedy, the film is yet to be released on the big screen.
