Footage: Anurag Kashyap commends the Manju Warrier-starrer | Here's what the filmmaker said

Following the premiere show of the Malayalam upcoming film, Footage, the film's presenter and renowned Bollywood director, Anurag Kashyap, spoke to the media about the Manju Warrier-starrer as well as the factors contributing to Malayalam cinema's growing appeal. He made the point that the growth of the film industry here is a result of the risks directors and producers are taking to create films like Footage.

The actor-filmmaker said, "It is a very difficult movie to make," and he was impressed by the team's efforts and the work they put into the camera, screenplay, and sound design, among other factors. "It takes a lot of time and focus to make such a film, and I am proud of what they have done," he stated.

Manju Warrier thanks Anurag Kashyap

Manju claimed in a recent interview with Kaumudy Movies that she had already discussed the details of Footage with her close friend Anurag Kashyap. She continued, "I requested him to see it, and he liked it, offering to present the movie in theatres." More than that, at the premiere, the actress thanked Anurag for presenting this movie, which raised the bar for moviegoers' expectations.

Footage to be released in theatres on August 23

The film, starring Manju Warrier, was originally scheduled to open in theatres on August 2, but it was postponed to mourn the many lives lost in the Wayanad landslides.

The trailer teases a film that will bring several avant-garde narrative methods to Malayalam cinema. This will be Manju Warrier and editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan's first joint venture. It's interesting to note that this is the first found-footage narrative in a Malayalam movie. Gayathri Ashok and Vishak Nair also have significant parts in the movie. According to its creators, Footage is a thriller that revolves around the story of a curious young couple. 

A young couple who are living life to the its utmost and documenting their most priceless moments are featured in the trailer. But when a stranger walks into their life, everything takes a surprising turn.
