Looks like Lokesh Kanagaraj is pulling out all the stops for his next Leo as another exciting personality joins the cast. Led by Thalapathy Vijay, the star-studded ensemble of Leo includes Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand and several others and to now make things all the more exciting, we hear that acclaimed Hindi filmmaker/actor Anurag Kashyap has come on board to play a 'crucial' role in the film.

And quite fascinatingly, Kashyap becomes the third recognised filmmaker as part of the Leo cast, along with Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mysskin.

The news of the 'Kennedy' and 'Gangs of Wasseypur' filmmaker joining the cast has become a trending subject on social media with many reckoning that his involvement would only make things more interesting. It has also emerged, in the same vein, that Anurag Kashyap's portions are likely to be filmed in the pristineness of Kashmir, where Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vijay & Co. are reportedly currently stationed.

Leo will not be Kashyap's first Tamil film considering that he played the role of ACP Martin Roy (Rudhra) in Ajay Gnanamuthu's 2018 action thriller Imaikkaa Nodigal (also starring Nayanthara). He had also signed on to play a key role in Thirugnanam's One 2 One.

Would Anurag Kashyap get the glorious death, the one that he has fancied so much, in Leo? Well, wouldn't that be the money shot! Of course, what we refer to is the filmmaker's recently-expressed desire to be part of the LCU, the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe, but for the sake of encountering a cinematic death and nothing more. "I want to die in his (Lokesh Kanagaraj) film. I want to do a death scene in Lokesh's film. Because he gives glorious deaths to his actors - I don't need a role, I just need to die," he said in a recent interview with Indiaglitz. Here's hoping that he does a bit more than just dying in Leo.

The first visual glimpse of Leo dropped earlier this year on February 3 in the form of a single named 'Bloody Sweet', sung by the film's composer Anirudh Ravichander and Siddharth Basrur. The second single, 'Naa Ready', was released on Vijay's birthday.
