Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap was one of the several surprises that director Lokesh Kanagaraj had for fans in his latest movie Leo. Starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, Leo boasted a star-studded supporting cast, including many accomplished directors.
Anurag Kashyap was also part of the star cast. He makes an almost blink-and-miss appearance in Leo. In a recent interview, he revealed how his wish to perform a death scene in a Lokesh Kanagaraj came to pass.
Lokesh grants Anurag Kashyap's wish
He noted that in an interview earlier this year, he expressed his desire to work with Lokesh . "I want to die in his (Lokesh Kanagaraj) film. I want to do a death scene in Lokesh's film. Because he gives glorious deaths to his actors - I don't need a role, I just need to die," Anurag said earlier.
Lokesh immediately phoned after watching Anurag's interview and fulfilled his wish. However, fans were not happy to see Anurag's talent wasted in such a brief appearance.
Anurag Kashyap clears the air
Many even wondered whether Anurag's screen time in the movie was cut owing to time constraints. Amid a lot of speculations and debates, Anurag has opened up about his role in the movie. "That's exactly how much the role was. Nothing was edited [out]. They treated me so well," he said in a recent interview.
In Leo, Anurag plays the role of Vijay's best friend. However, his character is unceremoniously bumped off in a rather shocking manner to highlight the ruthlessness of a key character in the movie. The death scene garnered a lot of ridicule and Anurag also came under a lot of online trolling.
The social media was flooded with memes mocking Anurag's cameo.
Leo also stars directors like Mysskin and Gautham Menon in key supporting roles.
