Besides his soulful melody, Anupam Roy is known for powerful lyrics. His new album Adrishyo Nagordolar Trip presents a blend of love, heartbreak, and city lights. The musician took an innovative theme to launch his new album.

At the Kolkata Creativity Centre art gallery, installations are made taking a cue from Anupam’s lyrics. In some places, paintings express the soul of his songs. At the inauguration, celebrities close to the singer took part in that trip. Filmmaker Srijit Mukherji, author Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Chandril Bhattacharya, Koushik Ganguly, Churni Ganguly, and others were present at the launch.

It was an evening of an amalgamation of music and art in a unique combination of songs, installations, and paintings. The exhibition will be shown at KCC for the next two days. The album consists of eight songs, and three of them, including Annie Hall and Bichar, was released on his Youtube channel earlier. In Anupam's words, “This album is about our life. We are riding an invisible Ferris wheel. Sometimes we manage to embrace different feelings in our lives. Sometimes we just refuse to accept. The album is regarding these ups and downs of life.”

Richa Agarwal – the woman behind KCC – was also present. She said, “I got acquainted with Bengali music through Anupam’s Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao. Such an amalgamation of his songs with art is commendable.”

Anupam’s long friend, social commentator, and National Award-winning lyricist Chandril Bhattacharya said, “Anupam's songs and lyrics are different. He brought a unique language. The way he released his album today is generally not seen in Kolkata.”
