Anupam Kher condemns rumours surrounding Satish Kaushik’s death: He needs a dignified exit

Satish Kaushik, an actor and filmmaker, died on March 9 in New Delhi after suffering a heart attack. Anupam Kher, a longtime friend, praised the late actor's laughter at a prayer gathering on March 20 in Mumbai.

A few members of the press approached Anupam outside of Satish's house in Bombay, where the prayer meet was held, and asked him to say a few words about his friend. Anupam admitted that he had tried to find a picture of Satish who wasn't smiling but had been unsuccessful. Subsequently, Anupam addressed some of the shady rumours floating around regarding Satish's demise and remarked, “I think we should give the man a dignified exit and not make these speculations, because he lived a dignified life. He needs a dignified exit. All these rumours should end today with this pooja. Thank you.”

During the prayer meeting were Satish's wife Shashi and their 10-year-old daughter Vanshika. While the rest of the family extended their folded hands in greeting to guests, Anupam was spotted holding Vanshika's hand.

The prayer meeting was well-attended by several of Satish's friends from the film and television industries. Actors such as Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Kapur, Supriya Pathak, Moushumi Chatterjee, Padmini Kolhapure, Gulshan Grover, filmmakers Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Taurani, David Dhawan, Abbas-Mustan, Vivek Agnihotri, and veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, among others, were in attendance.

Earlier, Anupam took to his social media accounts to write a heartfelt farewell message for his friend. Also, he posted a slow-motion video of himself presenting flowers to Satish's portrait with the caption, “Ja! Tujhe maaf kiya! Mujhe akela chhod kar jaane ke liya.
