After the success of RDX: Robert Dony Xavier, actor Antony Varghese is teaming up again with the producers of the action thriller film, helmed by debutant director Nahas Hidayath. Antony recently shared photos from the puja ceremony for the new project on his Facebook (now Meta) page.
Held in Kochi, the ceremony was also attended by Nahas, cinematographer Alex J Pulickal and Super Sharanya actress Anaswara Rajan, along with the producers Sophia Paul and Supriya Menon.
The new project - an action-revenge drama film set on the seaside - marks Ajith Mampally’s debut feature. Previously, Ajith worked as an associate director for movies like Chathur Mukham, Udhaharanam Sujatha and Anveshanam. It is said that the yet-to-be-titled movie will be a large-scale production like RDX, where Antony will play Manual, a strong character in the film. The soundtrack will be composed by Sam CS, known for his music in Vikram Vedha and Kaithi.
The technical team for the film includes Jithin Stanislaus (as cinematographer) and Sreejith Sarang (as editor). Filming will begin in October in locations including Varkala, Rameswaram and Kollam. Satheesh Thonnakkal has penned the script, along with Ajith. The film is likely to feature prominent actors from the industry in pivotal roles.
Antony Varghese’s upcoming releases
Antony’s upcoming release, Chaaver, stars Kunchacko Boban. The film, directed by Tinu Pappachan, is a political action drama based on the screenplay of Joy Mathew. Chaaver is Antony’s third film with Tinu, following Ajagajantharam and Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil. The movie also features Arjun Ashokan, Manoj KU and Sajin Gopu in pivotal roles.
The posters of the film promise an intense tale with thrilling action sequences. Behind-the-scene photos of Kunchacko in a rugged look have already gone viral on social media. Chaaver is set to release on September 21, along with Arjun Ashokan’s Theeppori Benny.
Meanwhile, RDX - starring Shane Nigam, Neeraj Madhav and Antony - is continuing its dream run at the box office. The film has crossed the ₹80 crore mark in box office collections worldwide.
