Antony: Check out the first look of the Joju Geroge-Joshiy film

After revealing an intriguing title poster, director Joshiy has now pulled the wraps off the first look of his upcoming film, Antony. It’s his second directorial venture with Joju George in the lead, after Porinju Mariam Jose. The poster features Kalyani Priyadarshan, donning a jersey, and a rugged Joju in the backdrop.

To prepare for his role in the film, Joju underwent rigorous physical training, shedding a lot of body weight. The actor had earlier shared a photo on his social media page, flaunting his toned body. The film’s cast also includes Chemban Vinod Jose and Nyla Usha, who had previously shared screen with Joju in Porinju Mariam Jose. According to reports, Asha Sharath will also be seen as a pivotal character in the movie.

After the success of Thallumala, Kalyani is doing some interesting movies, including Antony. Meanwhile, she plays a sports commentator in her new film Sesham Mikeil Fathima, in which Anirudh Ravichander had sung a track, composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab.

Released in 2019, Porinju Mariam Jose emerged as a big break for Joju, as the film showed him in a different avatar. Written by Abhilash N Chandran, the film was a commercial success in the theatres. With Porinju Mariam Jose and Paapan being successful, his fans are now eagerly waiting for Antony. This year, Joju also received a lot of praise for his performance in Rajeev Ravi’s period drama film Thuramukham and Iratta, a psychological thriller, helmed by Rohit MG Krishnan. Both movies got a lukewarm response at the box office, but Iratta was well received on OTT. AK Saajan’s Pulimada is another upcoming release, starring Joju and Aishwarya Rajesh.

The actor will be also appearing in Dileep’s film Voice of Sathyanathan, directed by Raffi, which is touted as a comedy drama with thriller elements. Scripted by Rajesh Verma, who is known for his work in Paisa Paisa, Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan and Life of Josutty, the film is produced under the banner of Einstein Media. The locations of the movie includes Vellikulam, Vagamon, Kurishadi and parts of Tamil Nadu.
