Annapurna Photo Studio is a rural dramedy that hit screens worldwide earlier this July. Chaitanya Rao, Lavannya Sahukara were cast as the leads in the feel-good entertainer produced by Yash Rangineni under Big Ben Films, the banner that produced films like Pelli Choopulu, Dear Comrade in the past. Suresh Productions had distributed the film in Telugu states.
Yash Rangineni, Vasu Inturi, Uttara Reddy, Mihirah, Viva Raghav, Krishna Mohan, Ramana, Shiva played other key roles in the film. Nearly a month after its theatrical run, the film is premiering on OTT. ETV Win acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the entertainer and decided to release the film on Independence Day i.e. today.
The story revolves around three friends - Chanti, Prasad, Pandu - who run a videography business for livelihood. A middle-aged Chanti falls in love with a college-going village belle Gauthami and the former mock him for his age and poor-luck with women. While trying to save a woman, Chanti and Prasad land in a mess. All hell breaks loose when an NRI Sindhu and her uncle enter the village.
In OTTplay.com's review of the film, the critic wrote, “Annapurna Photo Studio is an entertaining thriller comedy brimming with innocence, whose smart screenplay makes up for its wafer-thin plot. It’s a warm, nostalgic trip to the 80s with impressive performances, loads of humour, backed by memorable music and vibrant cinematography.”
Prince Henry was the music director for the film whose crew also comprises cinematographer Pankaj Tottada and editor D Venkata Prabhu. T Series bagged the audio rights. The film managed a modest run at the box office but has all the right ingredients to please family crowds and netizens with its OTT release. ETV Win’s other decent releases were Police Story, Asalu, U & I, Dear Megha.
