Even as fans of Superstar Rajinikanth are eagerly gearing up for the release of his 2002 film, Baba, yet another surprise has piqued the curiosity and excitement of fans. A poster that has been doing rounds of the Suresh Krissna film features a young Anirudh who seems to have appeared as a junior artiste in the film. Anirudh is said to have been one of the child dancers for a song featured in the film. In the poster, Anirudh is seen as a little boy and is seen wearing a hat and donning a casual blue shirt. Not many were aware of the fact that Anirudh had appeared onscreen before his debut as a composer. The poster has now taken the internet by storm and is being widely shared by many.

As a composer, Anirudh has scored music for Rajinikanth's Petta and Darbar. He is scoring the music for his upcoming film with Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer as well. Anirudh made his debut as a music composer with Dhanush and Shruti Haasan's 3.

The digitally remastered version of Superstar's Baba is slated to release soon and an official announcement is awaited about the exact date. The film has Rajinikanth playing the lead along with Manisha Koirala. In the film, Rajinikanth is seen as an atheist who is blessed with the powers of Mahavatar Babaji. Ramya Krishnan, who played Neelambari in Padayappa, reprises her character in a short cameo. The supporting cast includes Goundamani, Sujatha, Ashish Vidyarthi, MN Nambiar, Vijayakumar, Sayaji Shinde, Delhi Ganesh to name a few. Other cameos in the film include Raghava Lawrence, Nassar, Prabhu Deva, Sarath Babu and Radha Ravi.

Music was by AR Rahman, cinematography by Chota Naidu and editing by VT Vijayan. The film released on the occasion of Independence Day but opened to mixed reviews and eventually met with a lukewarm response at the box office.
