Team Animal is currently basking in the glory of the film's success. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal has shattered several box office records. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, the film, however, opened to polarising reactions. Actress Saloni Batra, who played Ranbir's sister in Animal, has now admitted that the film's characters are 'flawed'.

Saloni Batra on Animal's characters

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Saloni Batra defended her film Animal. The actress said, "Of course, the characters are flawed, but you make stories on flawed characters. These are inspirations, and hence, you put them on screen to show them to the audience to sit and enjoy in a theater.'

She further hailed Sandeep Reddy Vanga by saying that he is legendary for his craft and his filmmaking. Saloni added that a character, who has not got his father's love, will be flawed.

"When we write stories, we always get inspired by real characters in life. Now it’s about the audience understanding what is right and what is wrong. We can’t be sitting and preaching," quipped Batra.

Animal box office collection

Meanwhile, Animal has turned out to be a money-spinner at the box office. The film is about to enter the Rs 400 crore club by today. As for its global collection, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has crossed the Rs 600 crore mark at the ticket window.

More about the movie

Animal is Sandeep's third film after Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy and Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh. Like his previous movies, Animal, too, received flak for toxic masculinity and misogyny.

While Ranbir played the lead role, Rashmika essayed the role of his love interest, Geetanjali. On the other hand, Anil Kapoor was seen as Ranbir's father in the movie and Bobby Deol played the antagonist.
