After its spectacular success at the box office, Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna is currently ruling on Netflix. After garnering 6.2 million views in the first 72 hours of its Netflix launch, it has accumulated more than 20.8 million viewing hours, according to reports. January 26, 2024, saw the release of the action drama on the over-the-top platform. The OTT platform has now announced an exciting update that the film is now available in multiple languages besides English.
The official Netflix social media account stated today, February 8, that the film also starring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri is now available in numerous languages, including dubbed versions of English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Netflix posted a poster of Animal on social media and wrote in the caption: "He’s vengeance, he’s fury, he’s RANVIJAY SINGH BALBIR 🪓🥵🔥 Animal is now available in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on Netflix!"
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is the director of Animal. The film's purportedly misogynistic themes caused a great deal of controversy. The scene of the slapping and shoe-licking caused division in Bollywood. Directors like Javed Akhtar and Konkona Sen Sharma, among others, spoke out against it.
After just one week of its premiere, Animal has had more than 21 million viewings. Notably, Animal is surpassing audience records in more ways than one. In addition, it tops charts and dominates Netflix India's hot lists. In no less than 16 countries, the film is trending in the top 10. In markets including India, the Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Qatar, and Mauritius, it has taken the top rank. The collaboration between Sandeep Reddy and Ranbir Kapoor is a clear hit, both on OTT and in theaters.
Animal has made ₹915 crore globally, with ₹660 crore coming just from sales in India. The amount collected overseas is ₹255 crore.
