Sandeep Reddy Vanga has finally reacted to the allegations of misogyny against his film Animal. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal has turned out to be a blockbuster hit of 2023. Although the film is a box office hit, it invited a lot of criticism. People called out the Ranbir Kapoor starrer for misogyny and toxic masculinity. However, Sandeep believes 'misogyny' is the wrong word to be used for Animal and his previous film Kabir Singh. In an interview, the filmmaker reacted to the allegations of misogyny.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga on allegations of misogyny for Animal
Speaking with Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said the actual definition of misogyny is the disrespect for women. However, he doesn't find the word appropriate for Kabir Singh and Animal.
"So, no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even me as a person… I always feel my production company’s name is Bhadrakali Productions, I don’t know why people feel I disrespect (women). Not people, just these 15-20 jokers. It’s the wrong word to use (to describe) Kabir Singh and Animal," he told the entertainment portal.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Animal Park
In the same conversation, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said he will start working on Animal Park after he finishes Prabhas' Spirit. The filmmaker also hinted at the possibility of Animal's trilogy while speaking about the beginning of Ranbir's character as a 60-year-old. Tripti Dimri, who played the role of Zoya, is expected to enjoy more screen time in Animal Park.
About Animal
Animal is Sandeep's second Bollywood film after the release of Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, and Suresh Oberoi. While Ranbir essayed the role of Ranvijay Singh, Rashmika was seen as Geetanjali in the movie. On the other hand, Anil Kapoor played Ranbir's father, Balbir Singh and Bobby Deol played the part of Abrar.
