After director Shekhar Kapur stated that the OTT platforms had allowed Anil Kapoor to push limits as an actor in a way that theatrical cinema never did, the actor responded by calling the streaming industry a "whole new beast."
Anil Kapoor is now on a high due to the excellent praise his long-form streaming debut, The Night Manager, is receiving. In the Disney Plus Hotstar show, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala are also featured.
Anil is one of the actors who has continually developed as an actor, according to Shekhar Kapur, who stated this on Twitter. Anil, who has been in worldwide productions including Slumdog Millionaire and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, left the filmmaker wondering what Anil will do next in Hollywood. “Amazing how the actor in @AnilKapoor evolves with everything he does.and OTT allows him to explore what theatrical cinema never did. What’s next Anil? Hope it’s International? #nightmanager,” he tweeted.
Anil thanked the director and stated that Rennervations, starring Jeremy Renner, will be his next international project for Disney. Anil Kapoor and Jeremy Renner both appeared in Tom Cruise's 2011 film Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, however they were not on screen together. “You’re too kind @shekharkapur☺️ OTT is a whole new beast and I love it. As for what’s next international I am looking forward to Jeremy Renner’s Rennervations for Disney…Hopefully I’ll continue living up to your words!”
Anil Kapoor had successfully experimented with the lengthy format series with his TV series 24 long before his streaming debut.
Meanwhile, The Night Manager, Kapoor's last project, is the Hindi adaptation of John le Carre’s novel of the same name, which also led to a British series featuring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Debicki and Olivia Colman.
