Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar are the iconic duo who have given us several memorable films including Sholay, Yaadon Ki Baarat, Zanjeer, Seeta Aur Geeta, and many more. The duo were among the first Indian screenwriters to achieve star status and are also regarded as Hindi cinema's greatest screenwriters. They worked together on 24 films between 1971 and 1987, of which 20 were commercially and critically successful. It was earlier reported that their iconic story will be converted into a docuseries by Prime Video and the makers have now announced the release date of the same. 

Angry Young Men Release Date Announced

Titled 'Angry Young Men', Amazon Prime Video has announced the release date of this Salim-Javed story. The three-episode Original docuseries will be released on August 20 and will take us to the journey of the legendary writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar who have not only given us iconic movies but also iconic characters as well as dialogues in the history of Hindi cinema. 

Taking to their social media account, Amazon Prime Video announced the good news today, on August 10, and wrote in the caption: "To the duo who wrote countless stories, it's time to hear theirs Salim-Javed are back with #AngryYoungMenOnPrime, New Series, Aug 20"

Salman Khan, who is one of the producers of the docuseries, also shared the poster, along with the release date on his Instagram account and wrote: "Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar in and as Angry Young Men #AngryYoungMenOnPrime, New Series, Aug 20"

Talking about the show, Salman Khan said, "Growing up, seeing my father and Javed Sahab work together on films was nothing short of magical. Their love for cinema redefined heroism for an entire generation, leaving behind a legacy of cult classics. Personally, I would love to see them working together in the future, I hope the fans and viewers can also agree."

The show will mark the directorial debut of Namrata Rao and is produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment, and Tiger Baby. Angry Young Men is executive produced by Salma Khan, Salman Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. 

Launching on August 20, Angry Young Men will be available on Prime Video.
