Lisa from BLACKPINK shared glimpses of her incredible performance at Paris' Crazy Horse Cabaret on social media. Her show happened at the end of September, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week, and attracted a notable audience. Crazy Horse Cabaret, established in 1951, has a history of hosting both famous personalities in the crowd and occasional guest performers.
Despite Crazy Horse's reputation for risqué performances, attendees mentioned that Lisa's show remained at a PG-13 level, featuring lingerie and captivating outfits but not going topless. However, strict rules prevented any recording during the performance.
While Lisa faced some criticism, a well-known guest, Chinese model, actress, and singer Angelababy, received attention after reports of her presence at the performance emerged.
Following this news, Angelababy and other Chinese celebrities who were said to have attended faced backlash and calls for boycotts from netizens. Concerns were raised that their attendance might have violated rules set by the China Association of Performing Arts regarding participation in suggestive performances.
"Entertainers are prohibited from the following:…4. Organize, participate, or promote illegal activities, such as those related to obscene and explicit content…" the rule of the China Association of Performing Arts states.
When Chinese media started covering the reported presence of these celebrities, China Central Television (CCTV), the primary state television broadcaster in China, removed the video of Angelababy's recent performance at their Mid-Autumn Festival, as reported by TVBS.
As the criticism continued to escalate, Crazy Horse issued an official statement on their Instagram account, refuting any claims of Angelababy ever being a guest at their establishment.
The venue acknowledged that they were aware of the controversy surrounding Angelababy but emphasized that she had "never attended a [Crazy Horse] show."
Lisa's future with BLACKPINK:
Regarding Lisa, her prospects with BLACKPINK appear uncertain as the group is still in negotiations regarding their contract renewal with YG Entertainment.
Several reports indicate that Lisa has received substantial offers, amounting to tens of billions of Korean won, from international organizations, including those in her home country, Thailand. Notably, following YG's initial contract renewal proposal, there are reports that she has recently turned down YG's second offer, which was reportedly worth around 50 billion won.
BLACKPINK's controversies:
The BLACKPINK members have faced considerable attention and dating rumours. Jennie's name has been connected to EXO's Kai, Big Bang's G-Dragon, and most recently, BTS's V. Lisa, on the other hand, sparked speculation about a romantic relationship with Frederic Arnault, a member of a prominent chaebol family.
Additionally, Rose has been linked with actor Kang Dong-won, while Ji-soo confirmed her relationship with actor Ahn Bo-hyun.
