Arjun Das, who earned several fans after his performance in Kaithi, left movie buffs elated when he announced that he is playing the lead in Vasanthabalan's Aneethi. Dushara Vijayan was roped in to essay the female lead in the project which was billed as a thriller.
Urban Boyz Studios bankrolled the film which hit the screens in July. It opened to mixed responses from critics and moviegoers, though a few aspects of the movie garnered appreciation. It was Vasanthabalan's return to direction after almost two years post Jail. The project marked Arjun's first outing this year.
Aneethi: When and where to watch it on OTT
The movie is dropping on Amazon Prime and aha Tamil on September 15. Those who missed watching the film in theatres look forward to its digital premiere. The official announcement has been made now. It's one of those Tamil films which will have OTT releases on two platforms on the same day.
The movie revolves around a delivery boy who faces a health issue. He falls in love with a girl during the treatment. He dreams of leading a happy life with her, but fate has other plans for him.
Aneethi boasts of a strong technical crew
GV Prakash has composed music for the film which has cinematography and editing by AM Edwin Sakay and Ravikumar M respectively. SK Jeeva has penned dialogues for Aneethi while Phoenix Prabhu and Don Ashok have helmed action choreography.
The film marked heroine Dushara's second release in 2023 after Kazhuvethi Moorkkan. Arjun Chidambaram, Kaali Venkat, Sha Ra and Vanitha Vijayakumar among others essay key roles in the project.
