Andrea Jeremiah’s Pisasu 2 to be shot in Dindigul

Mysskin is working on a sequel to his 2014 blockbuster gothic horror Pisasu, titled Pisasu 2. K.B.Sriram tweeted enthusiastically that Mysskin always finds the toughest place to shoot his films.

Andrea Jeremiah, last seen in the Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi starring Master, plays the lead role in the same. Vijay Sethupathi is on board to essay an important role as well. Karthik Raja composed the music for the film. The first look poster of the sequel, featuring Andrea in an Anglo-Indian costume from another period, was released recently.

Pisasu told the story of Siddharth Soundaarajan, a young violinist who is haunted by the ghost of the girl (played by Prayaga Martin), whom he fails to save at the right time. Siddharth decides to find the culprit behind her death. The film, after its release, garnered attention for its gothic settings and eerie violin music. Naga’s performance and Mysskin’s direction were lauded by the critics.

Following its success, Pisasu was remade in Kannada as Raakshasi and in Hindi as Nanu Ki Jaanu. It was dubbed in Telugu later as Pisachi. The sequel is bankrolled by Rockfort Entertainment, the makers of Atharvaa Murali’s Kuruthi Aattam. Pisasu 2 also has Rajkumar in its lineup. He had also played the antagonist in Mysskin’s previous film Psycho.

Mysskin is reported to have shot the film extensively in the forest for a few sequences. According to reports, the shooting is nearing its completion. Mysskin has already claimed that Andrea is certain to win a National Award for her performance in the sequel. Will the sequel live up to the hype? Will Mysskin deliver what he promises?
