Actor Prashanth, who is gearing up for the release of Andhagan, the Tamil remake of Andhadhun, recently revealed that he might be doing a sequel to his hit film, Winner, which hit screens in 2003. The actor had recently visited the Arulmigu Subramania Swamy temple in Tiruchendur and revealed the information to the media after his darshan at the temple. He added that his upcoming film, Andhagan, too would soon hit screens.

Winner, directed by Sundar C, was an action comedy which had Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu in his element. The ace comedian played the memorable character of Kaipulla, a distant cousin of Prashanth in the film. The scenes between Prashanth and Vadivelu were a laugh riot, and contributed in a huge way to the film's success. Vadivelu had an association in the film, which was titled Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. The name became so popular that director Ponram used it as the title for his film with Sivakarthikeyan.

Kiran Rathod played the leading lady in the film. Music for the film was by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While the cinematography was by Prasad Murella, editing was by Sai Suresh.

In the meantime, Prashanth is awaiting the release of his comeback film, Andhagan, directed by his father, actor-producer Thiagarajan. The film is a remake of Shriram Raghavan's Andhadhun, which featured Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte, Anil Dhawan, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mana Vij and Zakir Hussain. The Tamil remake has Prashanth, Simran and Priya Anand in the lead with an ensemble supporting cast including Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, KS Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Manobala, Besant Ravi, Leela Samson, Mohan Vaidya, Lakshmi Pradeep and Poovaiyar to name a few.

Music for the film is by Santhosh Narayanan. Cinematography is by Ravi Yadav and editing is by Sathish Surya. Prashanth plays a blind pianist in the film. This is Prashanth's sixth collaboration with Simran.
