Bigg Boss Kannada 11 has drawn to a close with host Kiccha Sudeep declaring the winner for the last time. With over 5 crore recorded votes, singer Hanumantha Lamani, who’d come as a wild card entrant a few weeks into the show, was announced winner, with actor Trivikram the runner-up.
This season recorded a massive spike in votes, in comparison to season 10, with the winner’s total more than twice the votes that Karthik Mahesh received a year ago. Hanumantha, the first-ever wild card entrant to win the show, receives Rs 50 lakh in prize money and a luxury car.
Interestingly, on Saturday evening, after Rajat and Bhavya Gowda were evicted from the grand finale, a source from the set had said that actor Trivikram was being adjudged winner, while Hanumantha would be the runner-up. This despite the fact that all indications pointed towards the singer winning the show. In fact, pretty much every social media poll predicted that Hanumantha would win Bigg Boss Kannada 11.
Even before the winning moment was telecast, several tweets went viral claiming that Hanumantha had won the show, following which, a barrage of congratulatory messages began pouring in for the singer.
With this result, Kiccha Sudeep bids adieu to the show that he’s been the face of for the last 11 years. The Kannada superstar had hinted that he was hoping to be replaced before the start of Season 11, but made it clear later, that he would not host the show thereafter. Sudeep has 2-3 film projects lined up and will focus on his acting commitments for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, taking up the Bigg Boss Kannada telecast spot on weekends is the return of Maja Talkies, hosted by Talking Star Srujan. The show is back, in a new avatar, set in an apartment society, and a bunch of new characters.
