The movie takes place in Kalahasti, a village located on the Karnataka-Kerala border, The plot develops as a murder occurs a few days before an election. The victim is Chaapra, a powerful resident whose passing initiates a series of actions. A segment of Porattanadakam, a folk dance performed by the Panar community in Palakkad, is also shown in the film, along with Chaapra's death acting as the setting for the movie.
Lukman Avaran portrays Vasudevan, a rookie police officer who is posted to Kalahasti. Chemban Vinod appears as senior police officer Nadavaramban Peter in this film.
