It's not the easiest of situations for a television host to replace a celebrity actress on a show, especially with something on the scale of MasterChef. Tamannaah's exit from MasterChef Telugu after shooting for nearly 20 episodes for the first season came in as a shocker for many. Moreover, not many were exactly happy with her being replaced by television personality, actress Anasuya Bharadwaj, especially while talking in terms of star appeal and recall value. Amidst these challenging circumstances, Anasuya made her first appearance in MasterChef Telugu last week.

One of the major advantages that Anasuya has, in terms of the show, is her Telugu identity. Her Telugudiction, spontaneity and understanding of the specifics required for the small screen ensured that it didn't take long for her to adapt to the show format. She broke the ice rather comfortably with the contestants, discussing their unique traits and shared a warm rapport with the judges - Chalapathi Rao, Sanjay Thumma and Mahesh Padala. Anasuya was quite straightforward, sorted in her approach, while not going overboard with her enthusiasm.

While Tamannaah went that extra mile to develop a bond with the contestants, even calling Manoj (eliminated contestant) her 'brother', Anasuya's first weekend had her interacting with them well, though the personal touch was slightly amiss. It's understandable that Anasuya had stuck to the core format of the show and by the next week, she may well be more relaxed and comfortable with the setting. She only has a few more weeks to go before MasterChef Telugu wraps its first season and makes her presence felt. It's still fair to say, job well done till now!
