The LCU franchise depicts a complex battle between vigilantes and law enforcement in South India against dangerous drug cartels run by powerful crime lords. But ever since the franchise was established, fans have been curious about the backstory of how it all began. Actor Narain, who has starred in films like Kaithi and Vikram, in which he played Officer Bejoy, has made a huge announcement about the LCU franchise.

Narain: A short film based on LCU’s beginning will be released soon

Narain was asked about updates on Karthi's Kaithi 2, in which he also stars, during a promotional event for his upcoming film, Queen Elizabeth. The actor revealed that he and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj have been working on a short film that is connected to the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). “Kaithi 2 is definitely going to be the next film from LCU. Also, we have not revealed this to anyone, but Lokesh and I have shot for a 10-minute short film that is part of the LCU. That short film is about how the LCU began and will be released soon," he said.
