This couldn't have gotten more aggressive! Amazon Prime Video is leaving no stone unturned to capture the attention of audiences with a flurry of originals, web shows across a plethora of Indian languages. Amazon Prime has announced as many as 41 originals, movies, shows in multiple languages this evening. Among them there were three announcements about Telugu projects, namely Naga Chaitanya and Parvathy's web series Dhootha, another web show Modern Love Hyderabad and an original Ammu.
Among the three, Ammu was confirmed as an Amazon Original, directed by Charukesh Sekar. The film is produced by Karthik Subbaraj's banner Stone Bench Films and will star Aishwarya Lekshmi, Naveen Chandra and Bobby Simha in lead roles. The original is jointly written by Charukesh Sekar and Padmavathy. This will be Aishwarya Lekshmi's second project in Telugu after Satyadev Kancharan's action drama Godse.
While discussing the premise, Amazon Prime Video wrote that Ammu is a sweet name with a terrifying story. The story revolves around a woman Ammu, who is ready to go any length to get her abusive husband suspended from his job as a police officer. However, what she does will be 'unthinkable', the streaming platform shared. Aishwarya Lekshmi will be playing the role of Ammu while you need to wait for long to know who between Naveen and Bobby Simha would play her on-screen better half as an abusive husband.
The unusual combo for Ammu promises an interesting drama and one can't wait to see what the team of Stone Bench films has to offer. Naveen Chandra's other web releases in the recent past include Ardha Shatabdham, Bhanumathi Ramakrishna on aha, Parampara on Hotstar, to name a few.
