Malayalam actor-director Baburaj has revealed that he plans to helm a web series including the members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). He also said that he is not sure whether the series will resemble Twenty:20, the Malayalam film released in 2008 which had all the actors in AMMA including stars like Mammootty and Mohanlal.

Baburaj was speaking to Manorama News during the rehearsal camp of a show held by Mazhavil Manorama. Talking about new projects, the actor expressed his interest in portraying characters with depth in films.

"I don't want to do random films coming in my way. I think it is important for my career to be selective in terms of character," he said.

Baburaj who became popular playing villain roles, switched to comedy characters after the film Salt N Pepper (helmed by Aashiq Abu). Later he played humorous characters in Honey Bee, Ordinary, and Second Show which got attention. His character in Joji, the crime drama helmed by Dileesh Pothan garnered critical acclaim and is considered one of the best in his career. Baburaj has also directed four movies in his career with the last being Black Coffee. Black Coffee, which is a loose sequel of his movie Salt N Pepper, failed to make a mark at the box office, unlike its predecessor.

The most recent movie of Baburaj to hit theatres is Kunjamminis Hospital, a horror comedy helmed by Sanal Kumar Devan. Along with Baburaj, the movie also features Indrajith Sukumaran, Nyla Usha, Mallika Sukumaran, Prakash Raj, Harisree Ashokan, Gilu Joseph, and Binu Pappu. The film revolves around a haunted hospital and the supernatural experiences faced by the hospital staff and patients in that hospital. Baburaj will also appear in the film, Lovely, which has Aashiq Abu handling the cinematography. Lovely marks the debut of the Neelavelicham director as a cinematographer. Lovely, directed by Dileesh Karunakaran, features Mathew Thomas in the lead role.
