As soon as theatres reopen in Kerala, actor Amith Chakalakkal will have his hopes up as the actor will has two releases coming up – Bibin Paul Samuel’s Aaha and SJ Sinu’s Djibouti.
While the theatrical release date of Aaha is November 26, the actor shared a new poster of Djibouti announcing that it will also release in cinema halls soon. Amith, in an earlier interview with OTTplay, had said, “We want to release both movies in theatres, despite there being good interest from OTT platforms for Aaha and Djibouti. That’s why we are waiting. Djibouti, in particular, will be released in five languages and we are planning to release trailers in all these languages too.”
While Aaha, which revolves around a tug-of-war team, has Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead with Amith, Ashwin Kkumar and Manoj K Jayan in pivotal roles, Djibouti is a Amith’s first big budget outing as a hero. The latter was shot in Kerala and the African nation, and also has Dileesh Pothan and Jacob Gregory as part of the cast.
Meanwhile, Amith has also completed the shoot of SJ Sinu’s family thriller titled Theru. “The movie revolves around an issue that every youngster in Kerala faces when they are on the road. It touches upon the harassment they face from police or the government and mirrors the reality in the society,” the actor had earlier told us.
The film, which also has Baburaj, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Vijayaraghavan, Sreejith Ravi and Prashanth Alexander as part of the cast, was completely shot in Palakkad. Earlier this year, Amith also had another theatrical release titled Yuvam, which also dealt with a socially-relevant theme.
