Amitabh Bachchan ventures into generative AI. Here’s how!

With surreal images of actors and other celebrities making the rounds on the internet lately, the buzz is also that artificial intelligence (AI) may replace nearly 80% of human jobs in the near future. In fact, commenting on the ‘deep fake technology’, Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks recently said that an AI doppelgänger would, one day, be almost indistinguishable from his real self. Back home, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has now become part of a generative AI company as its strategic partner. 

Ikonz Studios specialises in digital IPs across metaverse and blockchain and, according to reports, their plan is to “raise $10 million in the series A round of the funding”. Generative AI can create text, images or other media in response to prompts, popular examples being ChatGPT and Bing Chat.

Commenting on the move, Amitabh Bachchan - who was last seen Vikas Bahl’s comedy-drama film Goodbye, alongside Rashmika Mandana, Pavail Gulati and Neena Gupta - told Variety, “I am intrigued with the way technology is evolving and the pace at which new innovations are coming up worldwide, one such being generative AI. I am happy to be a part of such an amazing futuristic world of generative AI , and have therefore partnered with Abinav-promoted Ikonz . Together we shall embark on this new metaverse world.”
