It was recently reported that Abhishek Bachchan will battle against Shah Rukh Khan in King. Now, Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed this development with his tweet.

Following his three consecutive releases in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan is now focusing on Sujoy Ghosh's movie King. It will mark his daughter Suhana Khan's big-screen debut. Before the film goes on floors in a few months, details about King's antagonist have surfaced online. Abhishek Bachchan has reportedly come on board to play a sophisticated villain in the film. A day after this news dropped, Amitabh Bachchan confirmed his son's on-screen battle with Shah Rukh Khan.
Amitabh Bachchan reacted to a news report about Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan's face-off in Sujoy Ghosh's film King. Confirming his son's role in the film, Sr Bachchan penned, "all the best Abhishek .. It is TIME !!! (sic)." If you haven't seen his tweet yet, check it out right below:
According to PeepingMoon, the Sujoy Ghosh directorial will present Abhishek in an out-and-out negative role for the first film in a big-scale commercial space. A source told the entertainment portal that Abhishek will make a significant impact with his performance in King.
"Jr. Bachchan was surprised when he was offered this role but accepted it immediately, intrigued by the depth of his character," a source revealed. Although crucial details about his role are kept under wraps, it is to noted that Abhishek will take on SRK in a deadly face-off in the movie. As per the report, producer Siddharth has grand plans to present Jr Bachchan in a manner that masses have never seen before.
In the past, Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have worked together twice in Bollywood movies. They were seen in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Happy New Year. Interestingly, King will mark Abhishek's second collaboration with Sujoy. He earlier played a lead role in his production venture Bob Biswas.
That said, King is expected to go on floors by October or November this year. Once the shoot is complete, the makers may release the film in 2025 or 2026.
