Amit Shah attends Akshay Kumar's Samrat Prithviraj screening, says 'film depicts the Indian culture of respecting and empowering women'

Amit Shah, India's Home Minister, attended a special screening in New Delhi of the glorious retelling of the last Hindu ruler, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan's life and daredevilry. The screening was also attended by Akshay Kumar, the film's leading lady, Manushi Chhillar, and director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

Yash Raj Films' first historical, Samrat Prithviraj, is based on the life and heroism of the fearless and powerful King Prithviraj Chauhan. In this visual spectacle, Akshay Kumar plays the famous warrior who fought valiantly to safeguard India's freedom from the cruel invader Muhammad of Ghor. The courage of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan against brutal invaders and plunderers of India has become part of Indian tradition, and this film aims to honour the king's spirit in the most glorious way possible.

According to Shah, Samrat Prithviraj is not only the narrative of an unrivalled warrior who heroically fought for our nation but also depicts the greatness of our culture. Samrat Prithviraj illustrates the Indian tradition of women being respected and empowered. Our thousand-year struggle has not been in vain; in 2014, India saw a cultural awakening that will restore India to its former glory. After overcoming numerous challenges, India's pride, greatness, culture, and 'Swadharma' have all been restored to their former splendour. Shah thanked Samrat Prithviraj's entire crew, particularly for the film's unique art direction.

While Akshay added that it's very humbling that honourable Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji has attended this particular event since they are paying respect to one of Bharatmata's most valiant warriors. It has been an honour for him to portray the mighty monarch, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, who gave his life in defence of our land and people. Akshay hopes he has done his life and the values Prithviraj stood for credit. The actor hopes his film inspires as many people as possible since he is a fantastic example of how every Indian should live their lives.

Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is best known for directing the television epic Chanakya and the critically acclaimed film Pinjar, directed Samrat Prithviraj. Manushi Chhillar plays King Prithviraj's beloved Sanyogita, and her debut is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated debuts of 2022. Samrat Prithviraj will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 3, 2022.
