We had earlier reported that composer Yuvan Shankar Raja had deactivated his account on Instagram without any prior notice. Following this, social media became abuzz of rumours that he had quit his account following scores of fans expressing his disappointment in the recently released single Whistle Podu from upcoming film GOAT: Greatest of All Time. However, the composer took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to reveal the real reason for his account getting deactivated.
Yuvan Shankar Raja was at the receiving end of online trolls after many fans expressed disappointment with the recently released song Whistle Podu. Headlined by Vijay, the song is the first single to be released from the upcoming film GOAT. The song is scored by Yuvan, with Vijay lending his voice. However, once the song was released a few days back, it did not sit well with the audience, due to the absence of its catchy tune. Soon fans of actor Vijay took to social media and began to call out Yuvan for his composition.
On Thursday, when Yuvan Shankar Raja’s Instagram account appeared deactivated, a blame game started, suggesting that it might be due to the hatred and trolls the composer got. However, taking to X, Yuvan wrote, “Hey guys, Thank you for the concerned messages. It's just a technical error, my team is trying to recover my Insta account and I'll be back soon. Love, always!”
The Whistle Podu song was released last week amid a lot of hype. However, the dance number failed to meet the expectations of fans, sparking a massive debate on social media. Many were quick to express disappointment with Yuvan's composition for the movie.
Scheduled to release on September 5, GOAT is directed by filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. The film also stars Prabhudheva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Premgi, Meenakshi Chaudhary and others. GOAT is backed by AGS Entertainment. The last stretch of the production is going on in Russia.
