American Hustle is loosely inspired by the real-life incident of the 1970s known as Abscam, in which FBI agent Mel Weinberg helped bust corrupt public officials. The movie has now been added to the long list of upcoming movies on the platform. However, the streamer has not confirmed the release date yet. Considering the lineup for this month is locked, we can expect the film to release in August.

The official synopsis for the movie reads: "Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) dabbles in forgery and loan-sharking, but when he falls for fellow grifter Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams), things change in a big way. Caught red-handed by FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper), Irv and Sydney are forced to work undercover as part of DiMaso's sting operation to nail a New Jersey mayor (Jeremy Renner). Meanwhile, Irv's jealous wife (Jennifer Lawrence) may be the one to bring everyone's world crashing down."

Talking about reinventing himself with the film to Wbur, Bradley Cooper said, "The whole movie is about reinvention. How do you con yourself to get through life? Richie does it by living in a shotgun apartment with his mother and curling his own hair. But the truth is he has these dreams, these aspirations of being this FBI mogul who will take down white-collar crime. So he tried to reinvent himself in order to be the man who he wants to be."
