Despite the lengthy hiatus, the sequel struck gold at the box office, amassing a jaw-dropping over ₹600 crore in revenue. This remarkable achievement has catapulted Gadar 2 into the upper echelons of cinematic success, securing its position as the fourth highest-grossing film of 2023 after Jawan, Pathaan and Animal, a feat made even more impressive by its status as a sequel.

Hence, Gadar 2’s success has become a focal point for media scrutiny of Ameesha Patel, attracting significant attention. Patel shared an interesting anecdote recently on a chat show with well-known television host and radio announcer Siddharth Kanan. She recounted how she had been presented with a major opportunity to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the blockbuster film Chalte Chalte (2003), a role that eventually went to Rani Mukerji. 

Patel's revelation carried a weighty sentiment, as she disclosed that she had missed out on this opportunity due to her manager. In a heartfelt confession, Patel expressed her regret, highlighting how her manager kept crucial information about the offer a secret from her, ultimately leading to her loss of the coveted role.

“Mujhe pata hi nahi tha ki that film was offered to me. There were people who played (a game).For a long time, there was a hierarchy of secretaries and managers who didn’t let projects get to the actor. There was a lot of that,” she said.

While discussing other opportunities in her career, Ameesha also disclosed that renowned filmmakers like Yash Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Sajid Nadiadwala were hesitant to offer her any projects due to concerns about her manager. “Yashi ji, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sajid Nadiadwala, lots of people, they said we were scared to approach me because of the person managing me,” Patel said.

The rumour about a sequel to Humraaz

There have been persistent rumours that a sequel to Ameesha Patel's 2002 film Humraaz is likely. Filmmakers Abbas-Mustan appear to be actively preparing for this venture, fueling anticipation among fans. Additionally, there are also rumours that the filmmakers are trying to sign Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna to reprise their respective roles in the sequel, further intensifying the excitement surrounding the potential continuation of the famous romantic thriller.
