His co-star Ameesha Patel claims that she almost recognized it instantly when she met her teenage friend again and they were about to commence shooting for the very film. Hrithik Roshan's reaction when Ameesha Patel called him 'superstar'

Ameesha Patel, who was teenage friends with Hrithik Roshan, described him as introverted and awkward, who transformed himself. She cited the example of how a 'caterpillar turned into a butterfly' once she met him after completing her education and coming back to Mumbai, days before the two were to star in their debut movie together, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. The film has completed 25 years today and is re-released in theatres, with the same buzz as it generated back in 2000.

On seeing the new side of Hrithik, Ameesha instantly commented 'superstar,' but Hrithik being Hrithik, he called her 'biased.' With it, Ameesha recalled to News18 how the shy teenagers transformed and became talkative and confident. She further revealed that she would call him 'The Bond,' and that she was the one to coin the Greek God term for Hrithik, and is proud of it.

Ameesha Patel, an outsider in Bollywood but not completely

Ameesha, who believes she is an outsider in Bollywood, has been family friends with The Roshans. She is, nonetheless, proud of her movie graph, which includes franchises like Gadar, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Race. She further has no regrets for not working in many films by stating that quality matters to her more.
