The voice of the legendary ‘vocal magician’ Ameen Sayani was nothing but magical. It was his voice that had consistently ruled the radio waves in many eras before the nineties and even a bit of the nineties. Today, the man who was the voice behind many brand commercials and TV shows breathed his last, leaving behind a legacy of his magical voice. He was 91 years old. He was a part of Binaca Geetmala. How can anyone forget the iconic line of his that stated "Namaskar bhaiyon aur behno"...

Speaking to indianexpress website, Ameen Sayani’s son Rajil Sayani confirmed the news by saying that, they had taken his father to the Hospital after he suffered a heart attack.

Celebs take to social media to pay their respect

No sooner the news about the passing away of Ameen Sayani became known, many celebs took to social media and paid their respect to the 'vocal magician'. The veteran aactor Anupam Kho who wrote a long note on social media, wherein he poured his heart out about the late Ameen sayani.

Besides him, there was the film maker Anil Sharma took to social media and posted, “Oh v v sad to knw about sad demise of great personality of radio shree #ameensayani .. ek samay inke bina film industry nahi chalti thi .. Bianca geetamala most popular prog of radio .. great person .. we will miss him .. mere jeevan ka pahla 200 rs ka check mujhe ameen sayani saheb se mila tha .. it’s highly sad moment for me n entire film industry n fans of mr Sayani .. may his soul rest in peace .. om shanti ..”.

There were many fans who also took to social media and expressed their condolences for the late Ameen Sayani. While one social media user wrote, ‘India has lost two magnificent voices today. #AmeenSayani & #FaliSNariman . The voices may have gone silent but their memories will go on’, there was another who wrote, ‘I used to listen to him in my childhood! Great voice to attract people of all ages on Radio! Rest in Peace Sir! #AmeenSayani’.

As for Ameen Sayani, he started off his career in radio with All India Radio, courtesy his brother Hamid Sayani. Not many know that, prior to his illustrious career in radio, he had even worked with the Marketing Department of Tata Oil Mills.
