Speaking about acting in Amran, Sivakarthikeyan, son of a late police officer, referred to playing a real-life character, "One important reason why I wanted to do this film is because of the uniform. The colour might be different, but the responsibility remains the same. It was one of the most important reasons for me to accept the film. Once I accepted the film, I know the challenges of this role. It requires me to keep aside all my strengths and enter as a different person. I prepared myself to wear this uniform.”
