While the 2024 roster of films in Hindi cinema is already full and overflowing, there are a handful of them that we are supremely anticipating. One of the most prominent names among the most anticipated ones is Amar Singh Chamkila, which is Imtiaz Ali’s comeback to feature films. The movie sees the reunion of maestro AR Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil and stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. Not much is known about the project, and only a teaser has been revealed so far. So, it came as a treat when Parineeti dropped a new still from the film to mark Diljit’s birthday.

Diljit Dosanjh celebrates his birthday today, January 6. The actor, who is currently busy promoting his songs and collaborations, is also the leading man in Imtiaz Ali’s next film, playing the titular character, Amar Singh Chamkila. His co-star Parineeti Chopra has now shared an adorable wish for Dosanjh with a fresh new still from the film. The still includes her and Diljit dressed as their characters in the movie. It’s a behind-the-scenes shot in which they can be seen sitting on a stage where a performance scene is being shot.
In her wish, Parineeti mentioned how she misses singing with the actor. The post read: "Mera yaara, mera pyaara, mera CHAMKILA! Happy bday ji .. Wish you happiness and good health forever. I miss us singing together! And I cannot wait to show the world what we have created in #Chamkila. The MUSIC, the magic."

Written and directed by Imtiaz Ali, Amar Singh Chamkila is based on the life of the legendary Punjabi musician who scaled massive heights at a young age but was killed when he was 27. The film will explore his success until the day he sang his last song. The music has been composed by AR Rahman and the lyrics are by Irshad Kamil.
What is even more interesting is the news that Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh will be singing their own songs for the film. As for the announcement, the teaser song featured Mohit Chauhan’s voice, leaving the fans even more excited. In the past, Mohit Chauhan, Imtiaz Ali, and AR Rahman together have given some of the most loved tracks.
