2024 has arrived with a full stock of films, shows, and entertainment that will smoothly carry us through the year, keeping us thoroughly entertained. While there is a continuously growing list of movies and shows being announced, one of the most exciting and anticipated releases of the year is Amar Singh Chamkila, the Imtiaz Ali directorial that has been in the making for a long while now. After years of speculation, the filmmaker confirmed the movie somewhere in 2022. However, he kept fans waiting for a year and a half to know the release date, and curiosity hit the ceiling when streaming giant Netflix shared the first look but not the release date. Turns out today is the day.
Imtiaz Ali Shares A New BTS Still
But while the filmmaker and the streaming giant revealed the release date, that was not the only surprise they had for the fans of Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. They also shared a beautiful polaroid shot from behind the scenes of the two stars. Imtiaz, on his official Instagram handle, shared a story that had the aforementioned polaroid picture in it.
The picture featured the two leading stars in their costumes and makeup. It shows them sitting on a podium and leaning towards each other, posing for a picture. Imtiaz, in the caption, wrote, “Best Wishes.” It also has, “With Love, Sumi,” written at the bottom. Fans are obviously going to love the still, which is so beautiful.
However, what stands out in this Instagram story is how the polaroid is placed. The picture is placed on an open diary that has something scribbled on it. It possibly is lyrics for some song or dialogues. While it is unclear, it still makes for a very beautiful shot. Talking of the release date announcement, the makers did it with a motion poster that features Diljit Dosanjh as Amar Singh Chamkila. The movie is set to release on Netflix globally on April 12, 2024. In the caption, the streaming giant wrote, “Maahaul ban jaata tha jab vo chedta tha saaz, kuch aisa hi tha Chamkila Andaaz. Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila arriving on 12 April, only on Netflix!”
