It feels like the best time to be a cinema lover, as the Hindi film industry has stellar projects lined up by great filmmakers. Just as we were processing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's announcement of the release of the first song, Sakal Ban, from Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Imtiaz Ali announced the release of the second song from his much-anticipated movie, Amar Singh Chamkila, which is set to be released on Netflix next month.
Naram Kaalja Teaser Out
Titled Naram Kaalja, the second song from the Diljit Dosanjh starrer movie is creating waves on the internet just with the teaser, and there is much more to decode in the credits than what meets the eye. If you look closely, the song marks a Tamasha reunion, and we cannot keep calm because it just keeps getting better.
On their official Instagram handle, Imtiaz Ali and the team shared a teaser for the second song from Amar Singh Chamkila. Titled Naram Kaalja, the song teaser has a very earthy vibe to it as women dressed in beautiful Punjabi attire celebrate something and are enjoying their time dancing and singing, with Diljit Dosanjh as Chamkila among them. The song, which is in chorus in the teaser, celebrates women's power, as the caption reads, “Naram Kaalji, Garam Tabiyat. An ode to Chamkila’s biggest fans – Happy Women’s Day! Naram Kaalja – Coming soon!”
The Tamasha Connect
While the teaser is already exciting enough to make us more curious about the entire album and eventually the film, there is more to it. While Imtiaz Ali meeting AR Rahman and Irshad Kamil for the Amar Singh Chamkila album is already the Tamasha reunion that fans have been waiting for for almost a decade, another teammate from the 2015 Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer has joined Chamkila. Naram Kaalja has been sung by Alka Yagnik, who last sang the hit song Agar Tum Saath Ho for Imtiaz Ali. This is sure to leave the fans of the filmmaker supremely happy.
Last week, the first song from Amar Singh Chamkila was released on the internet, titled Ishq Mitaye. Sung by Mohit Chauhan and penned by Kamil, the song, which has the AR Rahman touch, has been loved by the audience and is surely helping the movie grab some eyeballs. Meanwhile, the entire album of the film will drop slowly and is reported to have some classic Imtiaz Ali-style bangers. Considering the movie is a biopic of a singer who was the highest-selling Punjabi musician of his time, the music is bound to be stellar.
